MEAT DEPARTMENT. In the event a location or locations implement a conventional meat department during the term of this agreement, then the Employer and the Union will meet to discuss such implementation i.e. rates of pay, department seniority and classifications. For clarity, a conventional meat department is one that requires the expertise of a meat cutter for the purpose of cutting and trimming meat in a manner that it can be overwrapped, weighed and priced in preparation for sale to the customer.

MEAT DEPARTMENT. A. All fresh and frozen meat, sausage, fish, seafood, poultry and smoked meat shall be handled by the Meat Department employees. B. All work performed in the Meat Department shall be performed by members of United Food & Commercial Workers Union, Local No. 655, excluding the legal owner and his immediate family.
MEAT DEPARTMENT. An employee will be assigned to relieve the Meat Manager when the Meat Manager is absent from the store two or more days in a week. The employee providing relief will be the Assistant Head Meat cutter, when available. The Assistant Head Meat cutter is absent from the store two (2) or more days in a week, or; The Assistant Head Meat cutter is relieving the Meat Manager who is absent for periods of one week or more. When both the Assistant Head Meat cutter and Meat Manager are at work, but for their regular scheduled days off, the relief pay for the Assistant Head Meat cutter position will be limited to a maximum of two (2) days. There shall be a regular weekly pay day and further the employee shall be given a statement showing pay period covered, gross earnings, and all deductions. New employees will be classified according to previous comparable experience. New employees, having previous comparable experience, may be paid a lower scale of wages than their experience calls for, but not less than the minimum rate established by this Agreement for a period not to exceed thirty (30) days from the date of employment. This thirty (30) day period may be extended by mutual agreement between the Union and the Employer for the purpose of enabling an employee, or the Employer, to obtain of claimed previous experience. Providing the employee's services are retained, then after a thirty (30) day period, or such extended period as mutually agreed upon, they shall receive any difference between their rate of pay, and the rate for which their experience qualifies them. is further understood that the rate paid retroactively shall not apply to the first two (2) calendar weeks. New employees shall receive written notification showing credit for previous experience, and a copy shall be sent to the Union. No consideration be given to any disagreement pertaining to the credit for previous experience if presented later than fifteen (1 5) days following completion of the employees probationary period, unless extended by mutual agreement between the Union and the Employer, provided the Employer has: Provided the employee with a new employee letter provided for in Article of this Agreement not later than two (2) weeks from the date of employment. An employee who substitutes for a Meat Manager for a day or more, but less than a Meat Manager’s full work week of 43 hours, 5 days, shall receive $5.00 addi­ tional pay per day for each full day that he substitutes for a Meat Manager. 2. An employee who substitutes for a Meat Manager for a Manager’s full work week of 43 hours. 5 days, shall receive either (1) $25.00 above his regular five (5) day week’s base pay, plus l/10th of the sum of his base pay and the $25.00 or (2) the base rate for the Meat Man­ ager classification, whichever is the les­ ser.
