Common use of Medical Records upon Termination Clause in Contracts

Medical Records upon Termination. Upon the expiration or earlier termination of this Agreement, unless a Patient specifies otherwise and in accordance with applicable law, Company shall be entitled to the original medical records for all Patients, and Practice shall be entitled to copy such records, with the cost of any copies to be home by Practice. For such period as is required by applicable statutes, Company shall keep possession of the original medical records and shall retain the records in their original condition, shall store the records in a safe place and make the records available to Practice without charge if reasonably necessary for any purpose, including, without limitation, Patient care and medical malpractice defense.
