Mentor Teacher Assignment. All members of the bargaining unit shall be notified of available Mentor Teacher positions. A Mentor Teacher shall be assigned by the building principal in accordance with the following: 1. Primary consideration for Mentor Teacher positions will be given to tenured members of the bargaining unit with at least five (5) years of classroom teaching experience. 2. Participation as a Mentor Teacher is voluntary. 3. The District shall notify the Association President when a Mentor Teacher is matched with a bargaining unit member (mentee). The assignment of the Mentor Teacher shall be finalized by the building principal within twenty (20) workdays of the knowledge that Mentor Teacher is needed. 4. Every effort will be made to match Mentor Teachers and mentees who work in the same building and have the same area of certification. 5. A Mentor Teacher may not have more than two (2) mentees at any one time, unless agreed to by the teacher.
