Message Repeater. The message repeater is located near the public address amplifier in the pilothouse of each ferryboat. The message repeater is an automatic tape recorder, tape player and preamplifier utilizing a drop in cartridge to produce tape messages of lengths up to 50 seconds each. It is equipped with a microphone and recording level indicator. The message repeater is equipped with a message search switch to select a particular message. The selected message is indicated by lighting one of ten lamps. A manual actuation switch shall cause the selected message to be played. The contracts of the message search switch manual, actuation switch and indicator lamps are wired to a connector(s) mounted on the message repeater cabinet so that these functions can be utilized remotely. The message repeater plays back recorded messages with frequency response of 100-5000 HZ at a level variation of +4 DB or less. It shall deliver up to l0MW (+l0 DEM) into 600 ohm load impedance or up to 5.0v into impedances exceeding 25 K ohms. The message repeater operates on 120 VAC, 60 Hz with a power consumption of less than 100 xxxxx.
