METHOD OF TRANSMISSION HAILS. The sector vessels will be transmitting HAILS (Trip 9 Start and Trip End) electronically via the email messaging component of their VMS units. 10 All data necessary to the requirements will be sent in compressed formats to minimize 11 characters and maximize message capacity directly to the Sector’s Server which will 12 collect, store, convert and relay all data elements necessary to meet various requirements. 00 Xxx Xxxxxx will relay required HAILS (Trip State and Trip End) to NMFS, immediately upon 14 receipt.
