Middle School Teachers a. The student instructional day will be 6 hours 40 minutes. The allocation of time for subjects will be consistent with the ODE’s instructional requirements.
b. All middle school teachers shall be assigned six instructional periods of 42 minutes each or the equivalent amount of instructional time allocated in 84-minute instructional blocks. All middle school teachers shall be assigned a 42-minute planning period daily, a 42-minute team planning/collaboration period daily, and a 42-minute duty free lunch period daily. It is recognized that scheduling needs and instructional planning may result in some middle school teachers being assigned five instructional periods and a duty period.
c. Any proposed modification of the middle school class period schedule from year to year shall, follow the decision-consensus procedure set forth in Article III of the Teacher Administrative Partnership (TAP) charter, and shall be memorialized by a Letter of Understanding signed by the Superintendent and Local 795 President. The Parties acknowledge that the modifications in the XXX may deviate from the language in Article 6.B.3.b.
Middle School Teachers. Five (5) work days without students for returning middle school teachers to be used as three (3) non-student attendance days, one (1) each at the end of the first quarter, first semester and third quarter, plus two (2) days prior to the opening of schools.
Middle School Teachers. Under normal circumstances, full-time special education teachers shall receive planning time of at least four hundred (400) minutes per week for preparation and other instructional responsibilities when it is feasible and appropriate. Full-time middle school teachers, Library Information Specialists, special subject teachers, instructional resource teachers, speech and language pathologists, social workers, counselors, and resource room teachers at the middle school level covered by this Agreement shall, under normal circumstances, receive administratively scheduled daily planning time totaling eighty (80) minutes, with no less than one (1) block of forty (40) uninterrupted minutes, per day where pupils are in full day attendance.
Middle School Teachers. Preparation/Planning Time for Middle School Teachers The Middle School Teacher workday shall consist of not more than five (5) teaching periods, plus one preparation/planning period spanning six consecutive periods within the students’ instructional day, and not including the designated lunch period in accordance with section 6.1.1 above.
Middle School Teachers. (6-8) shall have one (1) unassigned preparation period during the student day equal in length to a regular teaching period.
Middle School Teachers. 1. The workday for teachers in the Middle School will be seven (7) periods a day on non-activity/club days and eight (8) periods a day on activity/club days.
2. Teachers in the middle schools will normally be assigned to not more than twenty- five (25) teaching periods or the equivalent. Full-time teachers will be guaranteed an individual preparation period or its equivalent during each instructional day and two
Middle School Teachers. All reasonable efforts shall be made for middle school teachers, grades 6- 8, to have one (1) preparation period per day. To the extent that the team planning requirement is continued as determined by the Board or its designee, all reasonable efforts shall be made for all academic area middle school teachers to have a common grade level planning period per day.
Middle School Teachers a. Middle school teachers will be provided at least one class period (currently 57 minutes) of planning time per full day of school.
b. The basic teaching schedules for grades 7-8 secondary teachers will consist of five classes, one homeroom period, and a planning period.
Middle School Teachers. Five (5) hours of accumulated compensatory time = one (1) day of excused absence.
