Monitoring of the Works Contract. The Service Provider shall ensure that all the work required under the Works Contract is carried out in accordance with the requirements of the Works Contract and current best practice and shall include effective financial control. Construction monitoring shall be carried out in a pro-active manner and in accordance with the Client’s standard requirements and current best practice. The Service Provider shall be responsible for the normal duties associated with the management and supervision of a works contract, which duties shall, inter alia, include: • Monitoring and reporting of the Contractor’s programme. • Implement Engineer’s quality control plan. • Monitor Contractor’s quality control plan. • Measurement and certification of completed work inclusive of cash flow forecasts. • Provide a final cost estimate for the work contract monthly, including estimated costs of claims. • Regular Site Meetings with Contractor and Client. • Monitoring of the third-party claims. • Monitoring and reporting of Contractor’s CPG commitments. • Supervision of traffic accommodation arrangements. • Statutory control functions, which may include investigations into the legality of services and accesses without formal wayleave agreements and assist with the application for approval where required. • Attend Project Liaison Committee (PLC)) and all other meetings relating to the Targeted Enterprises and Targeted Labour. • Monitoring and reporting of the project’s EMP and NEMA requirements. • Implement the Engineers requirements in terms of compliance with the OH&S Act. • Monitor the Contractor’s compliance with the OH&S Act.
