National Agreement. The National Cabinet has reaffirmed that providing universal healthcare for all Australians is a shared priority and agreed in a Heads of Agreement for public hospitals funding from 1 July 2020 to 30 June 2025. That Agreement maintains activity based funding and the national efficient price. There is a focus on improved patient safety, quality of services and reduced unnecessary hospitalisations. The Commonwealth will continue its focus on reforms in primary care that are designed to improve patient outcomes and reduce avoidable hospital admissions.
