Notice of Reduction. (a) When, in the opinion of the Employer, it becomes necessary to: (i) reduce the number of Regular Employees; or (ii) reduce a Regular Employee’s regularly scheduled hours of work; or (iii) wholly or partly discontinue an undertaking, activity or service; the Employee will notify the affected Employee(s) at least fourteen (14) calendar days prior to the date of layoff, except the fourteen (14) day notice shall not apply where layoff results from an act of God, fire, flood, or a work stoppage by Employees not covered by this Collective Agreement.
