Common use of Number of Leaves Per Year Clause in Contracts

Number of Leaves Per Year. The number of sabbatical leaves the Board may grant for any school year shall not exceed the whole number which comes nearest to 2% of the total number of teachers in the district as of the deadline for filing of applications for such leave for said school year (see 15:6). The Board reserves to itself the right to exceed this if it is found that unusual conditions make the granting of additional leaves desirable. The granting of sabbatical leaves shall be solely within the discretion of the Board. However, same shall not be arbitrarily or capriciously withheld.
