The On-Call Conditions clause defines the terms and expectations for when and how an individual or team must be available to respond to work-related needs outside of regular working hours. On-Call Conditions. The followingconditions will apply to allemployees assigned to on-call status: a. Patient needs will beconsidered when determiningthe appropriate response time. Employees assigned to an on-call status will be given written notice regarding the required response time withinthe on-call range. b. Employees assigned to an on-call status must respond to the facility within the response time provided in their notice. Employees must leave a telephone number where they can be reached and/or be assigned a beeper so they can be contacted and they may acknowledge the call or call back incase of emergency. c. If an electronic device is issued to the employeeon-call,it is the Employer'sand employees' joint responsibility to verify and document the workingcondition oftheelectronicdevice beforethe on-call period starts. An employee cannotbeheldliableforfailuretoresponddue to aproven malfunction. It is theemployee's responsibilityto report any known electronic device malfunction. d. With advance notice and approval from the employer, employees on-call shall be allowed to exchange on-call duty or otherwise arrange for another qualified employee to fulfill their on-call responsibility.

Except as noted in Section 5 of this Agreement, an on call assignment shall be considered a voluntary assignment by Physicians except where the OSH is unable to fill a particular assignment. b. The OSH shall designate the available on call appointments. c. No Psychiatrist can work more than eight (8) voluntary on call shifts in a calendar month without prior approval from the Chief of Psychiatry. d. An ‘on call block” shall be defined as January through February; March through April; May through June; July through August; September through October and November through December.
On-Call Conditions. 11.3.1 No employee should be rostered or required to be on-call more frequently than a total of 7 days every 14 days. Any arrangement that would require an employee to be on-call more frequently than this must only be introduced where the employee concerned genuinely agrees to it. 11.3.2 The frequency, duration, etc. of being on-call is to be established through consultation with the employees affected and if requested by the employees, their representatives, having particular regard to occupational health and safety considerations. 11.3.3 Employees who are on-call must be contactable whilst on-call but will not be restricted to their residence. 11.3.4 Employees who are on-call will be provided with any equipment required for their work (except where existing award provisions or other agreed arrangements, which require employees to provide their own equipment, are in place).

Where an employee is rostered to be on-call on a Saturday, Sunday or Public Holiday, there period of oncall shall be for 24 hours from 09.00. 5.6.2.3 Employees who are on-call must be contactable at all times and whilst are not restricted to their residence, must remain within 1 hours travelling distance from the AFC. 5.6.2.4 Employees who are on-call will be provided with necessary log in access to allow remote access to the AFC networks.
