Opening to Traffic. Do not permit traffic over sealed joints without the approval of the Engineer.
Opening to Traffic. For normal strength patches, do not open the repaired area to traffic until the concrete has obtained a minimum compressive strength of 3,000 pounds per square inch, when tested according to PTM No. 604.
1. Test concrete for compressive strength according to PTM No. 604, at the time of opening to traffic but no later than 7 hours after the test specimens were molded. Concrete lots that have not attained a minimum compressive strength of 1,200 pounds per square inch at the time of opening to traffic will be considered defective work.
Opening to Traffic. Revise to read as follows:
Opening to Traffic. Complete each application of all types of traffic stripes and allow to thoroughly dry before opening to traffic. At a minimum, delineate center lines on undivided roadways and broken lines between lanes before the traveled way is opened. The RE will determine when the traveled way can be opened to traffic.
Opening to Traffic. Complete each application of thermoplastic traffic markings and allow to thoroughly dry before opening to traffic. The RE will determine when the traveled way can be opened to traffic.
Opening to Traffic. 3.19.1 No vehicular traffic or loads shall be permitted on the newly completed pavement until adequate stability has been attained and the material has cooled sufficiently to an internal temperature of 140o F or less. If the climatic or other conditions warrant, or if the PGAB manufacturer recommends, the period of time before opening to traffic may be decreased or extended at the discretion of the Engineer.
Opening to Traffic. After compaction of the hot recycled materials, no traffic shall be permitted on the completed recycled material until the material has cooled to 140 degrees F or less. Temporary stripping shall be placed on surface prior to opening to traffic. Temporary striping shall be incidental to the Hot In-Place Recycled Asphalt Concrete bid item numbers 001-004. After opening to traffic, the surface of the recycled pavement shall be maintained in a condition suitable for the safe movement of traffic. Any damage to the HIR material shall be repaired by Contractor, as directed by the Project Manager.
Opening to Traffic. As listed on the contractor’s approved field QC plan and in accordance with Manufactures recommendations. Add the following: 679.3(g) Roadway Profile Report. Prior to acceptance of work, provide to the Representative surveyed profile drawings for the areas that were stabilized. Include the existing profile grade, proposed profile grade and profile grade accomplished by the operation. The Representative may require additional injection based on the results indicated by the profile grade report.
Opening to Traffic. Heavy truck traffic and other heavy equipment will not be allowed on the RCC pavement until representative concrete test cylinders achieve 3,000 psi and at least 3 days old. All compressive strength concrete test cylinders shall be made and tested in accordance with ASTM 1435 and AASHTO T22. However, limited automobile and light truck traffic may be allowed on the RCC as soon as the concrete is sufficiently cured to prevent significant marring. No permanent traffic will be allowed on the pavement until construction of the joints, including all sawing, sealing, and curing that is required, has been completed.
Opening to Traffic. No vehicular traffic or loads shall be permitted on the newly completed HMA pavement until adequate stability has been attained and the material has cooled sufficiently to a temperature of 140o F (60o C) or less as indicated by a surface type thermometer. Materials are Hot Mix Asphalt Type I approved, HMA MASS Top and Tack. Design to be on all load slips, load slips for each road shall be kept in order of each truck delivering mix. A sufficient number of trucks for transporting the HMA to the site will be required. The plane of the finished surface shall be smooth and acceptable to the Highway Supt. The Town of Becket reserves the right to take a sample out of any haul truck or paver at any given time or to check temperature of the material on the jobsite and in any haul truck. The Contract period for this IFB is construction season of 2022 between April 1, 2022 and December 1, 2022.
