Common use of Oral Discussion-Informal Procedure Clause in Contracts

Oral Discussion-Informal Procedure. In the event that a grievant believes there is a basis for a grievance, the grievant shall first discuss the issue with his/her building principal or other appropriate supervisor either individually or accompanied by an Association representative. If the grievance is not thus resolved, the employee may seek to resolve the issue with the person involved with assistance of a mediator if needed. The mediator will be selected from a mutually agreed upon list. If the grievance is not thus resolved, formal grievance procedures may be instituted. However, the exhaustion of the informal procedure is not a condition precedent in invoking the formal grievance procedure.
