- Part-Time Faculty Defined. A part-time faculty member is an individual who is hired to teach a credit bearing course or courses for a semester, Summer or January term. A part-time faculty member may be hired to teach courses for an entire academic year in Management’s sole discretion. A part-time faculty member may teach no more than eight (8) credits in a semester, no more than two (2) credits in a January term, and no more than a total of twelve (12) credits in a year.
