Vacancy Defined. A vacancy shall be defined as a newly created position, or a present position that is not filled and that the Board intends to fill.
Vacancy Defined. For purposes of this Article, a vacancy occurs when:
X. Xx employee notifies management, in writing that they intend to vacate their position; or
X. Local management notifies an employee in writing, that the employee will be removed from their position; or
C. Local management notifies a Correctional Officer 1 that they are being reassigned to a different position; or
D. A position’s assigned days off change by one (1) or more days, or post changes; or shift hours change by more than two (2) hours. In these cases, if the position is filled by an employee on a bid at the time of the change, the incumbent may elect to remain in the position and will retain their bid rights. If the incumbent elects not to remain in the position, they will be reassigned to a vacant position, and their bid eligibility restored. The vacated position will be posted for seven (7) calendar days. In those cases where there is more than one (1) vacant position, the incumbent under this Section will have the right to choose the vacant positions they wish to be assigned. If there is more than one incumbent under this Section, the incumbents will be permitted to choose among the vacant positions in order of seniority.
Vacancy Defined. A vacancy shall be defined as a position previously held by a bargaining unit member or a newly-created bargaining unit position.
Vacancy Defined. When a position has been created or a current position has been vacated, which is intended to be filled, a vacancy exists.
Vacancy Defined. A "vacancy" is a newly created or current position within a classification represented by the Association in this bargaining unit which becomes vacant due to the permanent separation (resignation, death, discharge) of the bargaining unit member formerly in the position or when an employee is on leave of absence under this Agreement for more than six (6) months. No vacancy shall exist unless and until the Board determines to fill any such position, which determination shall be within the sole discretionary authority of the Board.
Vacancy Defined. A vacancy shall be defined for purposes of this Agreement as a position presently unfilled, a position currently filled but which will be open in the future, or a new position that is currently not in existence.
Vacancy Defined. A vacancy shall be defined as:
a. A newly created bargaining unit position that the Board intends to fill.
b. An existing bargaining unit position that the Board intends to fill after all transfers have been accommodated.
c. A change in building assignment for a paraprofessional who is assigned to a particular student, or a food service employee who is transferred to the same job in a different building, shall not be considered vacancies.
Vacancy Defined. A. The following shall be considered a vacancy: A newly created position; or A position vacated by retirement, resignation, termination, or transfer; or A position vacated by an employee on an authorized unpaid leave of absence for which the anticipated date of return is greater than 2 month(s) from the beginning of the leave. This time may be extended by mutual agreement of the Association and Administration.
Vacancy Defined. Vacancies in bargaining unit positions are those non-promotional positions vacated as a result of death, resignation, retirement, termination of contract, non-renewal of contract, transfer, or the grant of a disability leave of absence for a duration of one year or more, promotion or the creation of a new position. The existence of a vacancy and selection of the person to fill that vacancy shall be determined by the Superintendent. When the Superintendent determines that a vacancy is to be filled it shall be filled as follows:

Should a vacancy occur at the discretion of administration, consideration will be given to paraprofessionals on layoff with specialized training/experience/qualifications/seniority needed for the specific setting, while minimizing disruption for classrooms and students.
