Pay for Teaching. In its sole discretion, the Employer may approve payment for teaching a for-credit course when the teaching is clearly in addition to the employee’s regular bargaining unit duties. Teaching for- credit courses always requires a faculty appointment and should never be included as part of an employee’s regular job duties.   • Team Teaching Unit members participating in team teaching assignments will receive formula hour credit in proportion to the percentage of in-class involvement. When team-taught class sizes exceed the normal, the formula conditions specified in Section 4.3.3 shall apply.

  • Substitute Teaching An adjunct faculty member who is interested in a substitute teaching assignment may be assigned to teach as a substitute in a course section for which the adjunct faculty member is qualified to teach. Each semester an adjunct faculty member may submit to the appropriate Xxxx a written request, on a form provided by the College, which shall indicate his/her willingness and availability to act as a substitute teacher and a reliable means by which to contact the adjunct faculty member on short notice. An adjunct faculty member who is selected to substitute teach shall be paid in accordance with Article 8.4.

  • NON-TEACHING DUTIES A. The Committee and the Association agree that a teacher's primary responsibility is to teach. It must be remembered, however, that in addition to that primary purpose there are other responsibilities within the School that must be assumed by teachers. The Committee and the Association recognize that paraeducators, clerical employees are useful and necessary in order to implement teaching. The Committee, having made provisions for paraeducators, will continue to work toward the improvement of this situation.

  • Leave of Absence for Employees Who Serve as Local Coordinators for the Ontario Nurses' Association An employee who serves as Local Coordinator for the Ontario Nurses' Association shall be granted leave of absence without pay up to a total of thirty-five (35) days annually. Leave of absence for Local Coordinators for the Ontario Nurses' Association will be separate from the Union leave provided in (a) above.

  • Eligibility for Promotion An employee in the classification of Police Officer must have a minimum of five (5) years service in the classification of Lincoln Police Officer as of March 1 of the testing year to be eligible to test for the classification of Sergeant.

  • TEACHING CONDITIONS The parties recognize that the availability of optimum school facilities for both student and teacher is desirable to insure the high quality of education that is the goal of both the teacher and the Board.
