Common use of PERA Short Term Disability Clause in Contracts

PERA Short Term Disability. An employee who is unable to perform the essential functions of his/her position with reasonable accommodations but who is not totally and permanently disabled from gainful employment, may elect to use available excused leave, or unpaid leave of absence, as set forth in Article 8 of this Agreement or he/she may apply for short term disability through PERA.
