Permitted Uses and Disclosures of PHI and PII by Business Associate. The Business Associate may use, or disclose, PHI and PII received from the County to its officers and employees. The Business Associate may disclose PHI and PII to a business associate that is a subcontractor and may allow the subcontractor to create, receive, maintain, or transmit PHI and PII on its behalf if the Business Associate obtains satisfactory assurances, in accordance with 45 CFR § 164.504(e)(1)(i) and § 501.171(2), Florida Statutes, that the subcontractor will appropriately safeguard the information. All other uses or disclosures not otherwise authorized by this Addendum or otherwise governed by law are prohibited.
