Person Disposition Status. The variable PSTAT13 indicates a person’s response and eligibility status. The PSTAT13 variable indicates the reasons for either continuing data collection for a person or terminating data collection for each person in the MEPS. Using this variable, one could identify persons who moved during the reference period, died, were born, were institutionalized or were in the military. Note that some categories may be collapsed for confidentiality purposes. The following codes specify the value labels for the PSTAT13 variable.
