Placement and Compaction. The base course shall be placed to the depths indicated on the drawings and/or as specified by the Engineer or his/her representatives. The gravel shall be placed in a maximum of 6-inch lifts and shall be thoroughly compacted to not less than 95% of the maximum dry density.
