Placement of Teachers. The salary schedule has been compressed therefore steps do not necessarily represent years of experience. Initial placement of a teacher entering the Telluride School District will be determined by the Principal or Superintendent. Teachers new to the district will be placed on the salary matrix based upon their verifiable years of prior teaching experience up to a maximum of 15 years. In no instance shall new teachers entering the District be placed higher than their verifiable years of prior teaching experience.
