Placement When Demoted. 15.8.1 A unit member who requests a voluntary demotion, or is demoted due to discipline, shall be placed on the step of the range of the lower class which is calculated by a 1% decrease for each range below the original range. If the decrease falls between steps, then the decrease will be placed at the lower level.
