Placement When Demoted. 7.8.1 A unit member who accepts a voluntary demotion shall be placed on the step of the range of the lower class which is closest to the rate he/she earned in the higher class, provided that he/she shall not receive an increase. He/she shall retain the anniversary date established in the higher class. 7.8.2 The order in involuntary demotion shall specify the step of the schedule at which the unit member shall be placed. Step advancement shall be in accordance with Section 7.3 of this Article.
