Common use of Plagiarism and Copyright Infringement Clause in Contracts

Plagiarism and Copyright Infringement. (a) Students will not plagiarise works that they find on the Internet. Plagiarism is taking the ideas or writings of others and presenting them as if they were yours. (b) Students will obey all Copyright Laws. Copyright infringement occurs when students inappropriately reproduce a work that is protected by a copyright. If a work contains language that specifies appropriate use of that work, students should follow the expressed requirements. If students are unsure whether or not they can use a work, they should request permission from the copyright owner. Copyright laws can be very confusing. If students have questions, ask a teacher. Assume all work other than theirs is copyrighted.
