Inappropriate Access to Material a. The school's computer system shall not be used to access material that is obscene, pornographic, sexually explicit, sexually suggestive, harmful, or otherwise inappropriate.
b. Inadvertent inappropriate access should be reported promptly to the student's teacher or administrator.

b. If I inadvertently access such information, I should immediately disclose the inadvertent access in a manner specified by my school. This will protect me against an allegation that I have intentionally violated the Acceptable Use Policy Agreement.
Inappropriate Access to Material. In accordance with the Children’s Internet Protection Act (CIPA) the district has an Internet appliance that blocks access to pictures that are obscene, child pornography or harmful to minors. Individuals will abide by the following policies:
a. I will not use my school’s file servers to access material that is profane or obscene (pornography), that advocates illegal acts, or that advocates violence or discrimination toward other people. (disruption of education, safety violation)
b. If I mistakenly access inappropriate information, I will immediately tell my teacher or an administrator. This will protect me against a claim that I have intentionally violated this policy. (failing to comply with directives)
c. My parents will instruct me if there is additional material that they think would be inappropriate for me to access. The district fully expects that I will follow my parent’s instructions in this matter. (respect for others violation)

(b) If students mistakenly access inappropriate information, they should immediately tell their teacher and provide the address of the offensive site. This will protect students against a claim that they have intentionally violated this policy.

d. I understand that internet access is provided for support of classroom assignments, and I will not attempt to surf anonymously or modify the computer in any way to allow me access to websites or applications I am not authorized to use.

1. Staff data files and electronic storage areas shall remain District property, subject to District control and inspection. The Computer Coordinator may access all such files and communications without prior notice to ensure system integrity and that users are complying with requirements of this policy and accompanying regulations. Staff should NOT expect that information stored on the Computer System is private.
2. In the event that a staff member accidentally accesses an unacceptable website or receives an inappropriate email, that staff member should report it immediately to the Superintendent or his/her designee, so this site can be blocked from further use.
