Common use of Power Factor Clause in Contracts

Power Factor. 7.01 The Customer agrees to take and use the Power contracted for in this Agreement at a power factor of not less than ninety percent (90%) lagging at the point of delivery specified in this Agreement. 7.02 Should the power factor be consistently less than ninety percent (90%) lagging, the Customer, upon written notification from Hydro, agrees to install suitable corrective equipment to bring the power factor to a minimum of ninety percent (90%) lagging. 7.03 If the Customer should install static condensers to correct the lagging power factor, the equipment shall be so installed that it can be completely disconnected at the request of Hydro.
