Common use of Pre-Approval and Funding Allocation Clause in Contracts

Pre-Approval and Funding Allocation. Provisions for reimbursement for travel may differ from program to program due to contractual variations. Employees must receive prior approval from their program managers/supervisors to be eligible to claim reimbursement. Before allocating these funds, program managers/ supervisors should check with their regional office regarding commitments that my have already been made in that budget code, such as upcoming training events, management meetings or conferences. Suitable allocation of travel funds include, and are not limited to:  expenses of program managers and supervisors who attend agency-sponsored management meetings  travel to and from conferences and training events for program staff, and payment of allowable expenses while there  travel by program directors to programs for which they have supervisory responsibility that are distant from their usual work location  travel by central admin and financial office personnel to program locations for training, supervision and management purposes.
