The Area of Potential Effects (APE) was intensively surveyed after 1999 to depths consistent with the RE’s proposed undertaking, conducted for the purposes of a previous Section 106 review and determined by the federal agency not to contain archaeological sites that are NRHP-listed, eligible, or unevaluated, and this finding was accepted by the Iowa SHPO. This requires consultation with the Office of the State Archaeologist or I-Sites Pro online databases to determine as this information is not available in I-Sites Public. The IEDA HPS or, if not SOI Qualified in archaeology, contracted, or employed qualified archaeologist, will coordinate such consultation.
