Common use of Price varying with service levels Clause in Contracts

Price varying with service levels. The price agreed at the start of the contract will be the price needed to deliver the Authority service specification and any specialist and enhanced services agreed between the Authority and a particular SCH as part of the contract. Over the course of the contract, there may be a need for the Authority to vary the level of service. Reasons for this may include: The Authority developing new requirements for SCHs The Authority wishing to purchase new levels of enhanced or specialist services Changes to legislation which impact on SCH services and require increased costs. Changes would then be agreed through the Contract Change clause which can only be instigated by the Authority (however note that this may occur following an approach by or discussion with the SCH). If the Authority wish to alter the service requirement or price the SCH will submit a new bed price to the Authority with a breakdown of how the additional cost has been determined. The SCH must be able to demonstrate how the new price links to the full economic cost of the Unit and the price for the previous year. Once a new price has been agreed, the new bed price will come into effect. If the price cannot be agreed, the service levels and price will continue at their previous level.
