Probationary Removal. A probationary employee may be removed at any time during the employee’s probationary period without cause. When a probationary employee is not satisfactorily performing the duties of the position through no fault of their own or the employer, the employee may be returned to his or her former classification with the Sheriff’s Office at any time during the probationary period. The Sheriff shall provide a written explanation to the employee detailing the employee’s unsatisfactory performance. In cases of misconduct or other rules and regulations violations, the employee may be removed without just cause.
