Procedure Upon Return. If upon the expiration of this leave of absence, the employee would have been laid off in accordance with the application of this Agreement notwithstanding his leave of absence, the employee shall go immediately on layoff. If layoff is not appropriate, and if the employee returns on the expiration date of his leave, the employee shall be placed in his previous job, or in a comparable job, provided he is qualified to perform such job.
