Common use of Professional Engagement Support Clause in Contracts

Professional Engagement Support. Deans may, at their own discretion, provide additional compensation to non-tenure-track faculty in order to engage in professional development activities during periods of non-reportability. Deans may also, at their discretion, release non-tenure-track faculty from limited assigned duties during periods of reportability to engage in professional activities directly related to the faculty member’s academic duties. In granting such release, the Xxxx may require the faculty member to arrange for coverage of her/his duties during the period of absence. A Xxxx’x decision not to provide such additional compensation or release from duties in response to any individual’s proposed activity shall not be subject to grievance.
