PROFESSIONAL MEDIATION OR EMPLOYEE ASSISTANCE PROGRAM SERVICES. When both parties at Step 2 determine that resolution of the grievance may be reached through the services of the Employee Assistance Program or the State Mediation and Conciliation Service, the time period in Step 2 and 3 will be extended to meet the time constraints of the mediator or counselor.
