Prohibitions for controlled substances. No employee shall:
1) Perform work when using or being under the influence of any controlled substance, except under instruction of a physician who has advised the employee that the substance does not adversely affect the employee's ability to safely perform the employee's job duties.
2) Perform work if the employee tests positive for controlled substances.
3) Refuse to submit to a controlled substance test.
Prohibitions for controlled substances. 1. Drivers may not report for duty or stay on safety-sensitive duty while using any controlled substance. The exception to this prohibition is if a physician has prescribed the substance and has advised the driver that it does not interfere with the ability to safely operate a motor vehicle. 2. Drivers may not report for duty or stay on safety-sensitive duty if they have tested positive for a controlled substance. 3. The Town reserves the right to require drivers to report the use of any therapeutic drugs. Also, the Town reserves the right to remove drivers from safety-sensitive duties until a physician's opinion can justify safe resumption of safety-sensitive functions.
