Common use of Project Understanding Clause in Contracts

Project Understanding. It is RK’s understanding that the project will consist of Entrance Ramp Improvements Our proposed scope of services and estimated item quantities are based upon our interpretation of the Permit Set drawings dated May 2023. The scope and quantity of the “on-call” services provided will be dependent upon services actually required by CLIENT, CLIENT’S representatives, the design team, and/or the General Contractor and/or its Subcontractors. All services authorized or requested by you, your representatives, the design team, and/or the General Contractor and/or its subcontractors in excess of the quantities of observation and testing services shown herein will be charged at the appropriate unit rate for such services. Charges will be invoiced on a monthly basis and will show a computerized composite total of services rendered for each service category. The scope of work includes the observation and testing of the following construction materials: • Soil sampling of existing soils for Entrance Ramp Subgrade/Fill, Fast Track Concrete Paving Subgrade/Fill, and Retaining Walls • Field compaction testing soils for Entrance Ramp Subgrade/Fill, Fast Track Concrete Paving Subgrade/Fill, and Retaining Walls • Concrete sampling Cylinders for Entrance Ramp Paving and Fast Track Paving • Laboratory testing of soil materials such as moisture-density relationships (Xxxxxxx), Xxxxxxxxx Limits (PI), sieve analysis thru No. 200, lime determination and compressive strength testing of concrete, cement sand, mortar and grout test specimens, and • Project management, data processing and report review services of laboratory and field test reports. Project Understanding. It is RK’s our understanding that the project will consist of Entrance Ramp Improvements Our proposed scope of services and estimated item quantities are based upon our interpretation Client wishes to better understand the issues affecting the pumping capacity at Lift Station #38. The Client has asked Xxxxxx-Xxxx to assist them in determining the cause of the Permit Set drawings dated May 2023pumping issues and providing recommend alternatives to correct these issues. Xxxxxx-Xxxx will provide the services specifically set forth below. Xxxxxx-Xxxx will review available documents including survey, land plats, utility drawings, etc. for the lift station and force main and will develop a preliminary plan. Xxxxxx-Xxxx will perform a site visit to observe and understand the existing system layout, terrain, nearby utilities, and other pertinent site conditions. (Performed 9/12/2023) Xxxxxx-Xxxx will contact pump manufacturers to request pump curve information in the event the Client cannot provide the necessary information. A reasonable number of attempts and effort to obtain pump information from vendors will be performed, if required. Xxxxxx-Xxxx will provide two (2) pump tests to evaluate performance of the installed pumps. Xxxxxx-Xxxx will use a specialized pump testing tool to acquire data for evaluation and reporting. The scope first test will be to diagnose potential issues with the force main, pumps, valves, etc. The second test will be to confirm any findings or recommendations. Xxxxxx-Xxxx will investigate the FM to determine the cause for the limited flow being conveyed by the lift station pumps. Xxxxxx-Xxxx will evaluate the FM records and quantity in-situ profile to determine up to four (4) locations for investigating the FM. Parameters for these locations include minimized liquid volume in the FM requiring disposal as well as areas of peak interest such as low points along the FM profile and ARV locations. The intent of these identified locations will be to perform CCTV, if possible, and understand the general condition of the “onFM along its length and profile. As a part of this analysis, Xxxxxx-call” services provided Xxxx will perform onsite visual investigation. Xxxxxx-Xxxx may coordinate with the Client for the Client’s resources to perform the following: • Expose portions of the force main for non-destructive testing and/or cut a small coupon for verification of internal condition and analysis results. • Perform CCTV A brief Technical Memorandum will be dependent upon services actually required by CLIENT, CLIENT’S representatives, developed and submitted to the design team, and/or Client summarizing the General Contractor and/or its Subcontractors. All services authorized or requested by you, your representatives, the design team, and/or the General Contractor and/or its subcontractors in excess of the quantities of observation analysis and testing services shown herein will be charged at the appropriate unit rate for such services. Charges will be invoiced on a monthly basis and will show a computerized composite total of services rendered for each service category.
