Promotion/Transfer Defined. The term promotion, as used in this article, means the advancement of an employee to a higher classification pay grade. The term transfer, as used in this article, means movement to another job classification title within the same pay grade or a lower pay grade. If the transfer results in movement to a lower pay grade, the transferring employee’s wage will be calculated based on the lower pay grade.
