If the type of policy we sell reaches specific profit targets the insurer may also pay us an additional bonus. You are entitled at any time to request information regarding any commission which we may have received as a result of placing your insurance business or arranging premium finance. Please be assured that at no time will the way in which we are remunerated conflict with our responsibilities to meet your needs and treat you fairly. In respect of some classes of insurance we may operate block insurance arrangements in order to provide competitive terms. This is where we place all insurances of a certain type with one insurer who can provide particularly competitive terms for all our customers. On occasions it will be provided with every assistance in submitting a claim necessary for us to transfer such blocks from one insurer to another where this is beneficial for our clients. This Terms of Business Agreement constitutes both your acceptance that we may do this and seek ing reimbursement. Full premiums are due before settlement of any claim. We, the insurer or claims handler shall be entitled (but not obliged) without notice your prior request for us so to you, to set off any amounts due from you against any amounts which we, the insurer or claims handler may receive on your behalf (such as claims monies, refunded premiums and other sums). We are covered by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme. You may be entitled to compensation from the scheme if we cannot meet our obligations. This depends on the type of business and the circumstances of the claim. Insurance advising and arranging is covered for 90% of the claim, without any upper limit. For compulsory classes of insurance, insurance advising and arranging is covered for 100% of the claim, also without any upper limit. The compensation scheme does not apply to be collected consumer credit. It is the responsibility of the insured to ensure that all sums insured and policy limits are adequate. Whilst we seek to assist in establishing and maintaining insured values and indemnity limits we cannot accept responsibility for their accuracy. It is strongly recommended that the appropriate Professional (e.g. Surveyor/Accountant) be consulted to ensure that the sums insured and limits under the policy are suitable. As insurance brokers, where we issue an insurance policy on an insurer with whom we have been notified by binding authority, we act as the agent of the insurer. Where we issue a policy on an insurer where we do not have binding authority, we act as your bank or building society agent in advising you, arranging your insurance and assisting you in the event of a failure claim. In certain circumstances we may act for and owe duties of care to make payment to usinsurers and/or other parties. Where we become aware of any actual or potential conflict of interest, we will inform you of the situation, the insurance will options available to you and obtain your consent before we proceed. The insurers we use are regulated and are required to have adequate capital resources. However, we cannot guarantee the solvency of any insurer we place business with. An insolvent insurer may be cancelled unable to pay claims or may be unable to pay them in full and you will be notified. Monthly Premium using Third Party Instalment Facilities If you choose may have to pay a further premium to pay for your alternative insurance premium using our third party supplier, Premium Credit Limited (PCL) of Premium Credit House, Xxxxx Xxxxx, Xxxxx Xxx, Xxxxxxxxxxx, XX00 0XX, your details will be passed on to them. Any queries or questions about the service provided by PCL should in the first instance be directed to them on +00(0) 000 000 0000. Where your policy is paid via PCL and you choose to renew your cover (or we renew your cover pursuant to section “Policy Renewal” of this agreement), we will again continue to pass your details to PCL. If any Direct Debit or other payment due in respect of the credit agreement you enter into with PCL to pay premiums is not met when presented for payment, or if you end the agree ment with PCL, or if you do not enter into a credit agreement with PCL we will be informed of this by PCL. If you do not make other arrangements with us or PCL to pay your insurance premiums, you acknowledge and agree that we may instruct on your behalf any relevant insurer to cancel the insurance. You may still be required to meet any payments for the period of insurance you have received. In assessing your application for credit, PCL will search the public information that a credit reference agency holds about you. The credit reference agency will add details of the search and your application to their record about you whether or not your application proceeds. This and other information about you may be used to make credit decisions about you and undertake checks for the prevention and detection of money laundering. If your application for credit is accepted, PCL will send you a welco me pack detailing their full terms and conditions and commence collection of instalmentscover.
