Common use of Public Data Destruction Clause in Contracts

Public Data Destruction. The Contractor agrees that upon expiration or termination of this Contract it shall erase, destroy, and render unreadable all Public Data from all non-state computer systems and backups, and certify in writing that these actions have been completed within thirty (30) days of the expiration or termination of this Contract or within seven (7) days of the request of the Eligible User, whichever shall come first, unless the Eligible User provides Contractor with a written directive. It is understood by the parties that the Eligible User’s written directive may request that certain data be preserved in accordance with applicable law.
