Media Destruction. DST shall destroy removable media and any mobile device (such as discs, USB drives, DVDs, back-up tapes, laptops and PDAs) containing Fund Data or use commercially reasonable efforts to render Fund Data on such physical media unintelligible if such media or mobile device is no longer intended to be used. All backup tapes that are not destroyed must meet the level of protection described in this Security Schedule until destroyed or rendered irretrievable.

State Street shall keep records of all Client Data destruction completed and provide such records to Client upon demand or provide a certification that all such information has been destroyed in accordance with this Security Addendum.

Media Destruction. Smarsh will ensure removal of all data from any media taken out of service and destroy or securely erase such media to make it unreadable, undecipherable, and unrecoverable by any means in compliance with applicable NIST standards.

Media Destruction. Before permanently discarding or disposing of storage media that (1) Manufacturer has physical access to or control of (e.g., laptop hard drives, desktop hard drives, USB or “thumb” drives, backup media, hard drives used in the Manufacturer’s own data center, or other portable storage media) and (2) contains, or has at any time contained, Amazon Confidential Information, Manufacturer will destroy the storage media using a technique designed to render the media unusable and the data unrecoverable (e.g., disintegration, incineration, pulverizing, shredding, and melting). This section shall not apply to storage media that Manufacturer does not have physical access to or control of, such as storage media used in a public cloud or other third-party environment. In such cases, Manufacturer shall ensure that all Amazon Confidential Information stored in the third-party environment is securely deleted when no longer needed using an industry-accepted practice (see Section 5.4, Deletion standard).

Contractor shall destroy removable media and any mobile device storage (such as USB drives, DVDs, backup tapes, printers, laptops, etc.) containing SWK Data or render SWK Data on such physical media unintelligible and not capable of reconstruction by any technical means prior to any reuse of the media, if requested by SWK or if such media or mobile device is no longer intended for use.

Service Provider shall destroy removable media and any mobile device (such as discs, USB drives, DVDs, back-up tapes, printers, laptops and tablets) containing Data Exporter Personal Data or render Data Exporter Personal Data on such physical media unintelligible and not capable of reconstruction by any technical means prior to any reuse of the media, if such media or mobile device is no longer intended to be used.
