Common use of Purchase Transactions Clause in Contracts

Purchase Transactions. You may use your Card to purchase goods and services from merchants that accept Cards bearing an acceptance xxxx displayed on the Card as a method of payment. If you do not have enough funds available in your Account to cover the total amount of a purchase transaction, you can instruct the merchant to charge a part of the purchase to your Card and pay the remaining amount with cash or another payment method. These transactions are called“split transactions.”Some merchants do not allow customers to conduct split transactions. If you wish to conduct a split transaction and it is permitted by the merchant, you must tell the merchant to charge only the exact amount of funds available in your Account to the Card. You must then arrange to pay the difference using another payment method. Some merchants may require payment for the remaining balance in cash. If you fail to inform the merchant that you would like to complete a split transaction prior to swiping your Card, your Card is likely to be declined.
