Recognised Public Holidays. The following days will be regarded as public holidays for the purpose of this Agreement: Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Year's Day, Australia Day, Good Friday, Easter Saturday, Easter Monday, Anzac Day, Queen's Birthday Holiday, Labour Day, one additional day between Christmas and New Year’s Day and any other public holidays proclaimed to operate throughout New South Wales.
Recognised Public Holidays. The recognised public holidays are:- • New Year’s Day; • Australia Day; • Good Friday; • Easter Monday; • ANZAC Day; • May Day or Labor Day; • Queen’s Birthday; • Show Day or Easter Tuesday; • Christmas Day; • Boxing Day; or • any other day observed by the public in the particular region in lieu of one of the above days, and • all other public holidays gazetted for the particular region.

Recognised Public Holidays. 42.1 All permanent employees shall be entitled to the following paid gazetted public holidays: New Years Day Australia Day Good Friday Easter Saturday (the day after Good Friday) Easter Monday Anzac Day Labour Day Queen’s Birthday Christmas Day Boxing Day.
42.2 Employees are also entitled to any public holiday that is gazetted in the employee’s State, Territory or locality. For example: a State or regional show public holiday.
42.3 Part-time employees normally rostered to work on a day of the week on which a public holiday falls shall, if not required to work on that holiday, be paid at ordinary rates for the actual number of hours that the employee would normally work on such day.
42.4 All hours worked on public holidays are to be paid in accordance with 43.1 save for recall which will be paid in accordance with clause 23.3 of this agreement.
42.5 If under a law of a state or territory a day or part day is substituted for a day or part day that would otherwise be a public holiday because of clause 42.1 above then the substituted day is the public holiday for the purpose of this clause. This clause does not however apply to Christmas Day.

Recognised Public Holidays. The recognised public holidays shall be the days gazetted from time to time as public holidays, which are generally observed by the public as public holidays, in the State of Queensland. Currently the public holidays are: New Year’s Day Australia Day Good Friday Easter Saturday Easter Monday Anzac Day May Day Biloela Show Day Queen’s Birthday Christmas Day Boxing Day Easter Sunday Each public holiday shall be a period of 24 hours commencing from the start of the first shift assigned as a public holiday. For the avoidance of doubt, Christmas Day commences at 6.00pm on 24 December. Christmas Day and Boxing Day is the period of 48 hours from that time. Agreement may be reached between the Company and the majority of Employees affected to observe any holiday other than on the days prescribed in clause 17.1. In such case the agreed day shall become the holiday for the purposes of this Agreement and the actual public holiday shall become an ordinary working day. Where the gazetted public holidays for Christmas Day and/or Boxing Day are days other than the 25 December and 26 December respectively, it is agreed that for Employees whose roster includes work on public holidays, 25 December and 26 December will be the public holidays and the gazetted public holidays shall be ordinary working days.

(i) Ten common Public Holidays: New Year’s Day Australia Day Good Friday Easter Saturday Easter Monday ANZAC Day Queen’s Birthday Labour Day Christmas Day Boxing Day
(ii) Regional Public Holidays: NSW Regional or Local Show Day (only where observed) Victoria Melbourne Cup Day in Melbourne or Regional or Local Show Day (only where observed) Queensland Exhibition Day in Brisbane and Regional or Local Show Day in other areas Western Australia Foundation Day (1st Monday in June) South Australia Adelaide Cup Day (3rd Monday in May) ACT Canberra Day and Regional Public Holiday*(1st Monday in March) Northern Territory Regional Public Holiday (1st Monday in August) Tasmania Regional or Local Show Day (only where observed) *If no regional Public Holiday is gazetted within a region a full time employee and a part time employee working a regular 10 day fortnight will be paid for an ‘additional day’ at their ordinary rate of pay in the first pay period after 1 November each year or the employee may elect to have an equivalent amount of hours added to their Annual Leave accruals. Where no regional holiday is gazetted within a region an employee may request to receive Melbourne Cup Day as their day off rather than receiving payment for the day.
(iii) Any extra days in a region, in addition to the days listed above, that are gazetted or proclaimed for that region.
(b) A listed Public Holiday that falls on a day that a Permanent Employee is Normally Rostered to Work. Should a listed Public Holiday fall on a day on which a permanent employee would normally be rostered to work, but they are not rostered to work on the day and do not work, they will be paid for an ‘additional day’ at their ordinary rate of pay.
(c) A listed Public Holiday that falls on a Permanent Employees Non Working Day
(i) Should a gazetted Public Holiday fall on a full time employee’s non working day and they do not work, the employee will be paid an ‘additional day’ in that pay cycle at their ordinary rate of pay.
(ii) For a part time employee, working a regular 10 day fortnight, should any of the Public Holidays fall on a non working day and they do not work, the employee will be paid an additional ‘day’, in that pay cycle at their ordinary rate of pay or the employee may elect to have an ‘additional day’ added to their Annual Leave.
