RECOGNITION AND TERM. 1.01 The Board hereby recognizes the Association as the sole collective bargaining agent for all civilian members of the London Police Service. 1.02 The Board agrees that there will be no discrimination, interference, restraint or coercion exercised or practised by the Board with respect to any member of the Police Service because of the member's membership or connection with the Association. 1.03 The Association agrees that there will be no discrimination, interference, restraint or coercion exercised or practised upon members of the Police Service by any of its members or representatives. 1.04 This Agreement, as hereinafter provided, shall accrue to and apply to those civilian members on the active payroll of the London Police Service on or after January 1, 2008 to December 31, 2010, and such Agreement will continue thereafter until replaced by a new decision, agreement or award. 1.05 For the purpose of calculating retirement benefits, retirement means the date the member ceases to be on the payroll.
