Recovery of Cards. Merchant will use its best efforts to reasonably and peaceably recover and retain any Card with respect to which Merchant receives notification of cancellation, restrictions, theft or counterfeiting. This notice may be given: (i) electronically through the Equipment; (ii) by the Authorization Center through any means; or (iii) by listing on any canceled Card or restricted Card list. Merchant shall also take reasonable steps to recover a Card that it has reasonable grounds to believe is counterfeit, fraudulent or stolen.

Recovery of Cards. 6.1 MERCHANT shall use his best effort to recover any CARD, by reasonable and peaceful means, if: A. The account number thereon is listed on a Electronic Exception File; B. The printed four digits above the embossed account number do not match the first four digits of the account number (VISA); C. MERCHANT is advised to do so by the authorization center; or D. MERCHANT has reasonable grounds to believe such CARD is counterfeit, fraudulent, or stolen. 6.2 This obligation upon MERCHANT in no way authorizes a breach of the peace or any injury to persons or property, and MERCHANT will hold FNBO harmless from any claim arising from any injury to person or property or other breach of peace.
Recovery of Cards. If an authorization center instructs Agent to recover a card used by Agent’s client, the Agent must use reasonable and peaceful means to obtain possession of the card.
