The Recycling Collection clause outlines the responsibilities and procedures for the collection and handling of recyclable materials. Typically, it specifies which party is responsible for providing recycling bins, the schedule for collection, and the types of materials that must be separated for recycling, such as paper, plastics, or metals. Recycling Collection. The Contractor shall conform to the following provisions when collecting recyclables in the City:
1. The Contractor shall structure routes so that lighter‐loaded trucks travel on the streets with poorer construction. The City shall provide road condition information to the Contractor.
2. The Contractor shall begin their routes with as small a volume of recyclables in their trucks as practicable.
3. The Contractor shall assist the City by alerting the City Staff of unlicensed recycling haulers who may be coming into Arden Hills. The following collection requirements are for curbside recycling services only and do not pertain to multi‐family recycling services.
Recycling Collection. 1. Beginning on August 1, 2015, Contractor shall provide the following Recycling and collection services to commercial Customers, including but not necessarily limited to the following:
a. Collection of commercial source-separated Recyclable Materials specified in Section 4.A in this Exhibit E from carts and bins at a minimum weekly and up to three times per week, as requested by the Customer.
b. Collection of commercial source-separated organic Recyclable Materials (including all compostable food waste and food-soiled paper) as specified in Section 4.C in this Exhibit E from carts and bins at a minimum weekly and up to three times per week, as requested by the Customer.
c. Size of the recycling and organics carts and bins selected by the Customer to ensure service level meets their needs.
2. Beginning on September 1, 2015, Contractor’s Recycling Coordinator shall dedicate the equivalent of at least one day per week to providing assistance and support within the County-Allied Franchise Area to maximize success of diversion programs. Recycling Coordinator shall perform commercial (including multi-family) waste assessments upon request. Contractor shall submit quarterly reports containing information required by the Director or his designee to demonstrate the Recycling Coordinator’s activities.
3. Beginning on September 1, 2015, Contractor shall mail notices regarding expanded Recyclable Materials collection services to all commercial Customers (including multi- family). Written notice shall address cart/bin size and frequency options, list of Recyclable Materials collected as specified in Section 4 of this Exhibit as well as options to arrange for new or expanded collection services. The form and content of the Customer notice shall be subject to the review and approval of the Director or his/her designee.
4. Beginning on October 1, 2015, Contractor shall contact Customers that did not request commercial Recycling service in response to the written notice for the purposes of making arrangements that will meet the Customer needs. Contractor shall document and report commercial Customers’ Recycling service needs or lack thereof in adequate detail to ensure compliance with applicable State laws.
5. Between September 1, 2015 and April 1, 2016, all commercial and multi-family customers not receiving Recyclables Material collection service shall be visited by the Recycling Coordinator to discuss (service choices) collection options to address individual customer ...
Recycling Collection. (a) The CONTRATOR shall provide to each UNIT covered under this agreement with one 64- gallon cart for the purpose of recycling collection. The CONTRACTOR shall own the carts and shall distribute, and maintain the carts for the duration of the agreement. The CONTRACTOR will repair or replace any carts that become broken or damaged through normal wear and tear. Carts that are damaged through negligence or misuse (i.e. burning, overloading) will be replaced by the CONTRACTOR and the resident will reimburse the CONTRACTOR for the replacement and delivery cost of the cart. The Village may request that the CONTRACTOR provide senior citizens and town homes with a 35-gallon recycling cart. Upon a mutually agreed upon date and time, the CONTRACTOR shall provide for a one-time exchange for residents requesting a 96-gallon recycling cart at no cost to the resident.
(b) The CONTRACTOR shall also provide to the VILLAGE recycling services, including weekly pickup and sorting, for all occupied UNITS within the VILLAGE. Materials to be collected by CONTRACTOR include those listed on Attachment A. These materials must be placed inside the recyclable cart. The CONTRACTOR shall provide recycling carts to new residents at no charge. Recycling carts may be exchanged for a larger or smaller size for a fee. Residents may rent additional recycling carts, either 64-gallons or 96-gallons through the CONTRACTOR for a charge of $4.00 per month. In the event that cart rentals are invoiced to the residents by the Village, the cart rental shall be $2.00 per month. A minimum of one-year is required for all cart rentals.
(c) The CONTRACTOR will retain any and all proceeds from the sale of recyclables and shall bear all costs and expenses of collection, storage, and marketing of the recycling materials.
(d) The Contractor shall cooperate with the Village in advertising and promoting recycling, including the development, printing, and delivering by first class mail, of a brochure containing such promotional materials as necessary to establish and maintain maximum participation in the recycling program and explaining the proper use of refuse and recyclable material storage and disposal containers.
Recycling Collection. Contractor-provided rollout recycling carts. No bags accepted if outside of the cart unless marked with a Contractor-provided tag. Every-other week collection provided.
Recycling Collection. 11.1.1. The Contractor shall collect all recyclable items placed at the curb or designated collection location in a rollout container or in a bag marked with a Contractor- provided tag on the service day at each location. Recyclable materials must be placed in a separate collection vehicle or placed in a bin on the vehicle that is separate from other waste collected. The Contractor is not required to collect recyclable items that are mixed with trash or other debris.
11.1.2. Items to be recycled shall include: • Mixed paper (e.g., newspaper and inserts, catalogs, junk mail, magazines, envelopes, office paper, cereal boxes, phone books, shredded paper (place in paper bag with top rolled down)); • Metal cans (e.g., aluminum, steel, tin, empty aerosol cans); • Plastic containers (e.g., food, beverage, personal care, or household plastic containers); • Glass bottles and jars (e.g., clear, ▇▇▇▇▇, green); • Aluminum Pie Tins, Food Trays; • Milk and Juice Cartons; • Juice Boxes; • Cardboard (separate from all items listed above, lay flat under bins or bluebags).
11.1.3. Buncombe County may expand its recycling program in the future. The Contractor shall be able to accommodate additional recyclable materials at no charge to the Subscriber. County and Contractor are to agree on terms of accepting additional recycling materials. If additional recyclable materials are added for collection, the County shall notify the Contractor at least sixty (60) days in advance of the proposed change.
11.1.4. When the recycling container with recyclable materials is mixed with trash or other debris, the Contractor shall leave the recyclable items at the curb and attach a hanger or sticker designed and supplied by the Contractor to those rollout carts found unacceptable for collection. The sticker/hanger shall include information on why the collection was not made and a telephone number to contact for more information. On or by November 30, 2019 the sticker/hanger shall be submitted to the County’s Designated Representative for approval.
Recycling Collection a. The Contractor shall not mix other types of Refuse or inorganic materials with the recyclables or take any action so as to make the recyclable material unacceptable to the operators of the recycling center.
b. The Contractor must provide monthly tonnage reports for all materials collected. The required information includes the market, the receipts, and the net weight and type of material.
Recycling Collection. Contractor shall offer to collect for recycling the materials specified in Section 4 of this Exhibit from Commercial Customers at a service level up to equal their solid waste service subscription at no additional charge and shall provide such services upon request. Contractor shall provide additional recycling collection services to Commercial Customers in 2014 as set forth in Exhibit F - Enhanced Services, including but not necessarily limited to the following:.
1. Increased frequency of collection for commercial recyclable materials (including multi-family): from carts and bins, at a minimum weekly and up to three times per week for bins, upon request of Customer.
2. Collection of commercial source-separated organic materials (including all compostable food waste and food-soiled paper) up to three times per week, as requested by the Customer.
3. Targeted dry material collection for customers with primarily dry and recyclable materials in solid waste containers.
4. Collection of an expanded list of materials in the recycling containers.
5. Assistance and support from Recycling Coordinators to maximize success of diversion programs.
