Rehearsals Lost. (1) If a Producer is prevented from giving rehearsals because of fire, accident, riot, strikes, illness or death of star or prominent member of the cast, Act of God or act of public enemy which could not reasonably be anticipated or prevented, then the time so lost shall not be counted as part of the rehearsal period herein provided. (2) In the event that a governmental (Federal, State or Municipal) proclamation is issued requesting or directing the closing of businesses for purposes of a national day of mourning and/or any reason, the Producer shall have the option to cancel the rehearsal in compliance with such governmental directive and the Actor shall not be entitled to any salary for such rehearsals that are lost. (3) Up to the time of suspension of rehearsals, payment of Rehearsal Salary shall be made as provided herein, and when the said layoff on the above account shall have continued for two weeks, the Producer shall pay half contractual salary for two further weeks, at the end of which time the Actor may terminate the Actor's contract, without payment or penalty, unless the Producer continues the services of the Actor by paying the Actor full salary therefore.

During such a lay-off, the Actor shall be paid a per diem of one-seventh of the amount deemed to be out-of- town living expenses set forth in Rule 63, SALARIES, for a maximum period of two weeks. Should the lay-off continue, the Producer shall pay one-half contractual salary for two further weeks at the end of which time the Actor may terminate Actor's contract, without payment or penalty, unless the Producer continues the services of the Actor by paying full salary therefor.

During such a lay-off, the Artist shall be provided hotel and Per Diem set forth in Section 24, HOUSING AND PER DIEM, for a maximum period of two weeks. Should the lay-off continue, the Producer shall pay one-half contractual salary for two further weeks at the end of which time the Artist may terminate Artist's contract, without payment or penalty, unless the Producer continues the services of the Artist by paying full salary therefor. Rehearsals Lost. ‌ If Rehearsals are suspended or abandoned because of an Act of God (including but not limited to fire, flood, epidemics, pandemics or other natural disasters whether of a similar nature or otherwise); the public enemy, acts of terror, acts of government officials, strike, or riot, all of which could not reasonably be prevented, each Actor and Stage Manager shall be paid all payments due as of the date of such suspension or abandonment, and other than such payments already paid or due, the Producer shall be relieved of any and all other monetary, economic or other obligations under the Agreement. Notwithstanding the foregoing, up to the time of suspension or rehearsals, payments of Rehearsal Salary shall be made as provided herein; thereafter for the first week of suspension on the above account the Producer shall pay Actors and Stage Managers full contractual salary. Following the first week of suspension, Producer may lay-off Actors and Stage Managers without pay for an additional two weeks. Following the two weeks of lay-off, the Producer and Actor or Stage Manager may jointly elect to continue the individual contract so long as Producer resumes paying the Actor or Stage Manager; if the parties do not agree to continue the individual contract, the individual contract shall be considered terminated. If a production is abandoned (as opposed to being suspended) before or during rehearsals, the Producer shall pay the Actors and Stage Managers a sum equal to one week’s contractual salary plus all rehearsal salary due to date.
