Research Funds. 4.1.1 The Research Institute shall use the Research Funds solely for the purpose of the Collaborative Research. 4.1.2 The Research Institute shall ensure that the Research Funds under the Agreement are to be used properly, efficiently, effectively, sparingly and in a manner allowable by the Agreement, and shall constantly monitor its use of the Research Funds as its own responsibility. 4.1.3 The Research Institute shall submit to JST without delay an original hard copy of the invoice with the authorized signature for an amount equal to the Research Budget. JST shall pay the invoiced amount by wire transfer to the bank account designated in Appendix 3 within thirty (30) days after its receipt of the invoice. Any loss of value, taxes, commissions, or other expenses incurred in the transfer of the Research Funds or in the conversion of currency shall not be reimbursed by JST to the Research Institute. JST reserves its right to request a refund of the Research Funds in accordance with the terms of this Agreement. 4.1.4 All amounts payable by JST to the Research Institute under this Agreement are inclusive of VAT (or any similar taxes) which the Research Institute may be required to pay at the rate prescribed by applicable laws.

Research Funds. 28.8.1 Effective September 1 of each contract year, an annual fund of $30,000 shall be made available to assist CAS and Librarian Members with the cost of scholarship, research, and creative activities related to a Member’s responsibilities under Articles 16 or 17, as appropriate. Funds will be available for research-related expenses including but not limited to travel to scholarly conferences for the presentation of papers, for the employment of research assistants, and for other costs directly related to a Member’s research. The application procedure and conditions of a grant under this clause are as follows: (a) Members apply for research funds in writing to the Vice-President: Research, copied to the Vice-President: Academic, Department Chair, and the Xxxx or University Librarian as appropriate. An application for research funds shall include a summary of the scholarly, research, creative or professional development project; the purpose for which funds are needed; the relationship of the project to the Member’s teaching and/or professional responsibilities, if applicable; a budget; and the date for the conclusion of the project; (b) the Vice-President: Research and Xxxx or University Librarian as appropriate shall make a recommendation on the application to the Vice-President: Academic; (c) the maximum grant under this fund is $1,500 and the minimum award is for $500 unless the Member requests a lesser amount; (d) any award of research funds shall be concluded on or before the termination of a Member’s appointment or within twelve (12) months of the award whichever comes first. Any unspent monies shall be made available to other applicants under this Research Provision. On the request of the Member, the Vice-President: Academic may extend the period of a research award, but in no case shall the award be for a period longer than twelve (12) months. 28.8.2 By September 15, the Vice-President: Academic shall report to the Association on the research funds under 28.8.1 with the names of the applicants and the amounts requested; the names of the recipients and the amount awarded to each recipient in the previous contract year. Any unspent monies shall be added to the research fund available in the following year to a maximum fund of $35,000 per academic year.

Research Funds. A. The NCAA will contribute five million U.S. dollars ($5,000,000.00), over a period not to exceed ten (10) years, to research the prevention, treatment, and/or effects of concussions. These funds are in addition to any funds the NCAA has already spent on concussion research as of the Effective Date and must be used to fund research that would not have occurred absent this Settlement Agreement. B. The Medical Science Committee can make annual recommendations for the NCAA’s consideration regarding the expenditure of research funds. The NCAA may elect to accept these recommendations at its discretion. C. The NCAA will provide an annual report to the Parties, by no later than December 31 of each year, which will include: (i) the amount of money spent since the Effective Date by the NCAA on research regarding the prevention, treatment, and/or effects of concussions and mid- to late-life neurodegenerative disease; (ii) the recipients of the research funds; (iii) the purposes of the research being conducted by the recipients; and (iv) the results of any research, including the identity of any publications related thereto.
Research Funds. For the term of this Agreement, Wistar shall maintain complete and accurate books and records of the use of the funds provided by Collaborator and of all additional costs or expenses for which reimbursement is requested from Collaborator hereunder, and shall make such records available to Collaborator for review or audit upon advance prior notice to Wistar during Wistar’s normal business hours, but not more frequently than once each calendar year. Should it be reasonably determined that Wistar was not entitled to a payment previously made by Collaborator in accordance with this Agreement, Collaborator shall be entitled to prompt reimbursement by Wistar of any such payment.
Research Funds. During the Term GRDC must provide to the Research Organisation the Research Funds by way of payments in accordance with this clause 2. The Research Organisation must use the Research Funds for the sole purpose of carrying out the Project in accordance with this Contract. The Research Organisation must not use Research Funds to acquire a Capital Item unless a description of, the details of the need for, and costs of, the Capital Item are included in Item 14 of Schedule 1, or unless it has obtained GRDC’s prior written approval and Item 14 of Schedule 1 has been updated accordingly. Subject to clause 2.3, during the Term GRDC will make a payment associated with a Milestone specified in Item 21 of Schedule 1 to the Research Organisation on acceptance of the Milestone Report in accordance with clause 8.3 of this Contract. GRDC has no obligation to pay the Research Organisation each part of the Research Funds under this Contract unless: the Research Organisation has complied with: all material obligations arising prior to the date of payment under any agreement between the Research Organisation and GRDC; and all of its obligations arising under this Contract, including acceptance of all previous Milestone Reports by GRDC, acting reasonably, and has not been relieved under 21.4 from failure or delay in performance of such obligations; provided that GRDC: will not withhold payment without giving reasonable consideration to any reasons put forward by the Research Organisation for any failure to comply with its obligations; and will identify any payment being withheld under this clause 2.3(a) and provide reasons; GRDC has received sufficient funding in relation to the Financial Year in which the payment is to be made to enable it both to make the payment and to make payments during that Financial Year under all other research agreements entered into by GRDC, provided that if it has not received sufficient funding, GRDC has provided the Research Organisation with at least 3 months’ written notice of reduction in funds or termination in accordance with clause 18.2; and the payment is consistent with, and designed to give effect to, GRDC's Annual Operational Plan and R&D Plan prepared under Part 2 of the PIRD Act, provided that if GRDC relies on clause 2.3(c) to stop payments of the Research Funds: it must promptly notify the Research Organisation that clause 2.3(c) applies; and unless otherwise agreed in writing by the Parties, the Research Organisation must stop per...
Research Funds. Ceres shall provide Research Funds over a three-year period to support the Research Project, in accordance with the Research Budget attached hereto as Exhibit B. The Research Funds paid under this Agreement shall not exceed £ (English pounds) 575,478 in total. Installments of the Research Funds shall be provided on a quarterly basis with the first payment occurring within thirty (30) days from the signature date of this Agreement and thereafter within thirty (30) days from the start of each quarter. The maximum grant under this fund is $1,500 and the minimum award is for $500 unless the Member requests a lesser amount. 23.7.2 In addition to the research fund under 23.7.1, up to four (4) research support grants (paid as a salary equivalent to the salary for a one-term undergraduate course) will be available each academic year according to the following: (a) Members with seniority status who have been employed by the University during the two previous academic years are eligible to apply for a research support grant; (b) there shall be at least one research support grant available each term during the academic year; if a research support grant is not awarded in a particular term, it shall be available to be awarded in the next term within the same academic year; (c) applications in accordance with 23.7.3 shall be submitted prior to the term in which the research support grant would be taken, i.e., by October 1 for the winter term, by February 1 for the spring term, and by June 1 for the fall term; (d) Members who have received a research support grant may apply for research funds under 23.7.1, and under 16.2.1 (e), upon request, shall receive assistance from the University Research Office in making applications to external granting agencies; (e) a research support grant is equivalent to a one-term course and shall be counted as such for the purposes of 16.3.2 and 16.3.4, and for professional expense reimbursement under 23.6.1; (f) Members who have received a research support grant under this clause are only eligible to apply for a further grant after teaching courses during four (4) academic terms over a period of not less than 24 months. 23.7.3 Members apply for research funds or research support grants in writing to the Vice- President Academic, copied to the Department Chair, and the Xxxx or University Librarian as appropriate.
