Resident’s Responsibilities. Resident agrees: 4.1 To be responsible for ensuring that Resident has met and complied with all requirements by the State of Texas, the Texas Medical Board, the Hospital, the ACGME, and this Agreement, including Section 6 of this Agreement, prior to the start of this Agreement. 4.2 To devote Resident’s full-time and best professional efforts to the participation in the Training Program. 4.3 To fulfill the educational requirements of the Training Program and to use Resident’s best efforts in providing safe, effective, and compassionate patient care as assigned or required by the Program Director. 4.4 To carry out clinical responsibilities as and when assigned, as well as to demonstrate courtesy and respect to the Hospital staff, medical staff and advanced practice professional/allied health staff, and to patients and their families. 4.5 To comply with federal and state laws and regulations, The Joint Commission standards, Texas Health Resources (“THR”) and Hospital policies and procedures, including the THR GME policies and procedures, and Training Program policies and procedures (collectively, “THR Policies”), and directives of the Program Director and Program Director’s designee. It is understood that THR GME policies may be found on the THR GME website at xxxxx://xxx.xxxxxxxxxxx.xxx/gme/Policies. For further information, Resident may contact their Program Director. It is understood that THR Policies may be amended from time to time. 4.6 To conduct himself/herself in conformance with applicable laws and THR policies governing Confidential Information. Confidential Information includes information concerning patients, physicians on the medical staff, peer review, quality review, committee records, logon and password information, and information related to operations and internal business affairs of Hospital or THR that is not generally available to the public. Resident may learn of or have access to some or all of this Confidential Information through a THR computer system or through Resident’s interaction in providing services under this Agreement. 4.7 To participate fully in the educational and scholarly activities of the Program, including the performance of scholarly and research activities as assigned by the Program Director as necessary for the completion of applicable graduation and board eligibility requirements. Attend all required educational conferences, assume responsibility for the teaching and supervision of other residents and medical students and participate in assigned THR, Hospital and medical staff committees. 4.8 To develop a personal program of self-study and professional growth with guidance from Hospital’s Training Program teaching staff and the Program Director. 4.9 At the time of the expiration of the Agreement or in the event of termination of the Agreement, to return all Hospital property, including but not limited to keys, badge, books, laptops, and any other equipment and to complete all records and settle all professional and financial obligations before Resident’s final paycheck will be issued. Resident’s Responsibilities. In providing services and in participating in the activities of the Program, the Resident agreesshall do the following:

The Resident is responsible for ensuring that Resident has met reading, understanding and complied complying with all requirements by the State of Texas, the Texas Medical Board, the Hospital, the ACGME, foregoing Policies and this Agreement, including Section 6 of this Agreement, prior to the start of this Agreementprovisions.

4.5 To comply with federal and state laws and regulations, maintain accreditation by The Joint Commission standards, Texas Health Resources (“THR”) and Hospital policies and procedures, including the THR GME policies and procedures, and Training Program policies and procedures (collectively, “THR PoliciesJC”), the Accrediting Bodies, and directives of the Program Director and Program Director’s designee. It is understood that THR GME policies may be found on the THR GME website at xxxxx://xxx.xxxxxxxxxxx.xxx/gme/Policies. For further informationany other relevant accrediting, Resident may contact their Program Director. It is understood that THR Policies may be amended from time to timecertifying, or licensing organizations.

Resident’s Responsibilities. Resident agrees:

As mature adults with professional responsibility and standing, residents must be committed to quality excellence in all aspects of their activities and are expected to positively represent Miami Children’s Hospital in all activities, both inside and outside the workplace. 2.1 Participate in the start Program and satisfactorily perform Resident’s obligations under the Program in accordance with the provisions of this Agreement, the MCH Housestaff Manual, a copy of which has been furnished to Resident (“Housestaff Manual” Online), MCH’s Employee Handbook, a copy of which has been furnished to Resident online and all of MCH’s other policies, procedures and manuals as relevant. Resident shall report and be responsible to MCH’s Program Director, the Director of Medical Education, and the Chief Medical Officer/ Senior Vice President for Medical Affairs.

Resident shall provide satisfactory, safe, cost effective, and compassionate patient care as assigned or required by commensurate with Resident’s level of experience and competence under the Program Directorgeneral supervision of the attending staff.

2.4 Participate in institutional programs and activities related to the performance of scholarly Program, and research activities in committees and councils as assigned especially those that relate to patient care review activities and residency oversight activities.
2.5 Be required to attain certification in a Basic Life Support (BLS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), (Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) as approved by MCH’s Graduate Medical Education Committee (the Committee), and other required training, as determined by the Committee, such as Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and/or Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS). MCH shall bear the cost of the initial attempt to obtain the PALS and other required certification. If Resident fails to obtain certification on the first attempt or fails to attend their pre‐scheduled course, Resident shall bear the cost of any additional attempts at certification. Failure of Resident to obtain PALS and any other required certification, may, at the sole discretion of MCH, be deemed a breach by Resident of this Agreement and may result in termination of this Agreement by MCH.
2.6 Participate in all required orientations, continuing education, and safety seminars.
2.7 Assure and maintain State licensure or registration as required by the Florida Board of Medicine as described in the Housestaff Manual.
2.8 Comply with the scope of practice documents pertinent to the training program and obtain an appropriate level of supervision for all patient care activities.
2.9 Complete required evaluations in a timely manner as stipulated in resident’s handbook.
2.10 Maintain patient logs if required by the Program Director as necessary for or if part of the completion of applicable graduation and board eligibility requirements. Attend all required educational conferences, assume responsibility for the teaching and supervision of other residents and medical students and participate in assigned THR, Hospital and medical staff committeesProgram Requirements.
4.8 To develop a personal program of self-study 2.11 Document and professional growth with guidance from Hospital’s Training Program teaching staff and maintain procedure logs in the Program DirectorProgram‐designated log system.

Replacement scheduled by the Program Director on a rotational, equitable basis, as provided for in the Resident Manual.
