Common use of Respect Human Rights Clause in Contracts

Respect Human Rights. This principle implies: To respect human rights and recognize both their importance and their universality To respect and, whenever possible, promote the rights set out in the International Declaration of Human Rights; To accept the universality of these rights, that is, the fact that they are applicable indivisibly in all countries, cultures and situations; To take measures to respect human rights, and in cases where these are not protected, avoid taking advantage of these situations; and To accept the principle of taking into account international standards of behaviour in cases where the legislation or its implementation does not provide adequate protection of human rights. By adhering to this Charter, the Company undertakes to make its best efforts to respect and implement or to enforce and implement for its own suppliers and subcontractors, in compliance with contractual provisions and legislation applicable national and international practices, all the practices described therein. More specifically, the Company shall provide DSE with all information related to environmental matters as soon as possible upon request from DSE. Any serious and deliberate breach by the Company of the principles set out in this Charter will constitute a breach of its contractual obligations, which may lead, depending on the seriousness of this breach, to the application of coercive measures which may extend, if necessary, up to outright termination of the contract with all suppliers without prejudice and damages. In the event that the Company, due to special circumstances is not able to comply with certain provisions of this Charter, it is required to inform the operations management of Discovery Sports Events Limited, in order to agree on corrective measures to be taken.
