Joint Health and Safety Committee. (a) The Employer and the Union agree that they mutually desire to maintain standards of occupational health and safety in the organization, in order to prevent accidents, injury and illness. The parties agree to promote health and safety throughout the organization. The employer shall provide orientation and training in health and safety to new and current employees on an ongoing basis, and employees shall attend required health and safety training sessions. (b) Recognizing its responsibilities under the applicable legislation, the Employer agrees to accept as a member of its Joint Health and Safety Committee, at least one representative from the bargaining unit. The number of committee members will be no less than that determined by legislation and the bargaining unit will be entitled to the same membership as any other employee group on the committees. The Union shall notify the employer of their representatives. (c) Such Committee shall identify potential dangers and hazards, institute means of improving health and safety programs, and recommend actions to be taken to improve conditions related to occupational health and safety. (d) The Employer agrees to cooperate reasonably in providing necessary information to enable the Committee to fulfill its functions. The Committee shall respect the confidentiality of the information. (e) The Union agrees to endeavour to obtain the full cooperation of its membership in the observation of all safety rules and practices. (f) Meetings shall be held every third month or more frequently at the call of either co-chair, if required. The Committee shall keep Minutes of all meetings and make the Minutes available for review. (g) All time spent by a member of the Joint Health and Safety Committee attending meetings of the Committee and carrying out the members duties, shall be deemed to be time worked for which the member shall be paid by the Employer at the member's applicable rate of pay, and the member shall be entitled to such time from the member's work as necessary for those duties. Joint Health and Safety Committee. (The following clauses will appear in all collective agreements replacing any provisions related to Accident Prevention - Health and Safety Committee and to Hospital provision of vaccines to Hepatitis B surface Antigen that existed in the Hospital's expiring collective agreement:) 7.01 It is a mutual interest of the parties to promote health and safety in workplaces and to prevent and reduce the occurrence of workplace injuries and occupational diseases. The parties agree that health and safety is of the utmost importance and agree to promote health and safety and wellness throughout the organization. NOTE: Where there are multiple sites, the Local Parties are referred to Article 27 (Multi-site Language) to determine Local Applicability of Health & Safety Committee structure. 7.03 Such Committee shall identify potential dangers and hazards, institute means of improving health and safety programmes and recommend actions to be taken to improve conditions related to safety and health. 7.04 It is understood that consultation on issues of mutual concern will occur between the Joint Health and Safety Committee and Infection Control. 7.05 The Hospital agrees to co-operate in providing necessary information to enable the Committee to fulfil its functions. 7.06 Meetings shall be held every second month or more frequently at the call of a co-chair, when requested. The Committee shall maintain minutes of all meetings and make the same available for review. 7.07 Any representative appointed or selected in accordance with 7.02 hereof, shall serve for a term of at least one (1) calendar year from the date of appointment. Time off for such representative(s) to attend meetings of the Joint Health and Safety Committee in accordance with the foregoing, shall be granted. Hospitals will choose either to include a representative from the bargaining unit from each Hospital site, or to have a separate Joint Health and Safety Committee at each Hospital site, unless the parties agree otherwise. ii) Such Committee shall identify potential dangers and hazards, institute means of improving health and safety programs and recommend actions to be taken to improve conditions related to safety and health. iii) The Hospital agrees to cooperate in providing necessary information and management support to enable the Committee to fulfil its functions. In addition, the Hospital will provide the Committee with access to all accident reports, health and safety records and any other pertinent information in its possession. The Committee shall respect the confidentiality of the information. iv) Meetings shall be held every second month or more frequently at the call of the co-Chairs, if required. The Committee shall maintain minutes of all meetings and make the same available for review. The Joint Health and Safety Committee will determine the appropriate mechanism to communicate the minutes of the proceedings of the Committee to the organization. v) Any representative appointed or selected in accordance with (d) (i) hereof, shall serve for a term of at least two (2) calendar years from the date of appointment. Joint Health and Safety Committee. ‌ The Union and Employer shall co-operate in improving rules and practices which will provide adequate protection to Employees engaged in any work for the Employer. A Joint Health and Safety Committee shall be established in order to improve health and safety standards, and be composed of five (5) Representatives from CUPE and its Local 4705 Inside (Office, Clerical, Technical, Leisure Programming, Transit Operations, Library, Heritage and Paramedical) Unit, and five (5) Employer Representatives. The meetings shall be chaired alternately between the Employer and the Union Committee Members. The Committee shall hold one (1) meeting every two (2) months, or more often if an emergency situation warrants it, and will deal with all unsafe, hazardous or dangerous working conditions. Representatives of the Union shall not suffer a loss of pay for attending such meetings during their regular working hours. Copies of the minutes of all Committee Meetings shall be sent to the Employer and the Recording Secretary. No Employee shall be disciplined for acting in compliance with the applicable Acts and Health and Safety Manual, or for seeking enforcement of the provisions of the Acts and Health and Safety Manual. All injuries resulting from on-the-job accidents, however small, shall be reported to their Immediate Supervisor. This Report must be made as soon as possible after the injury. The Immediate Supervisor will investigate and report to the Co-ordinator of Organizational Development, Safety and Wellness who will report all injuries to the Joint Health and Safety Committee at its next Meeting, on the nature and cause of the accident. All Employees shall report unsafe acts or unsafe conditions to their Immediate Supervisor as per the duties of Workers under the Occupational Health and Safety Act. The Supervisor will investigate and take corrective action as required. The Co-ordinator of Organizational Development, Safety and Wellness will report to the Joint Health and Safety Committee at its next meeting on the nature and disposition of the Report. Employees working in any dangerous jobs will be provided with the necessary tools. The safety equipment and protective clothing will be provided by the Employer for those items as agreed to by the Employer and the Union. Joint Health and Safety Committee. The parties agree that no subject should receive or deserve higher priority than promoting safe and healthful working conditions in the plant. The parties further agree that an on-going program in which all stakeholders participate and cooperate will aid in achieving this objective. Therefore it is agreed that a Joint Health and Safety Committee (“JHSC”) will be established in each division. The JHSC shall be made up of a representative mix of Employees, supervisors and managers from across the division, who volunteer to participate on the Committee. There shall be a maximum of six (6) JHSC members at any time. The names of members of the JHSC shall be posted on the employee bulletin board. The function of the JHSC shall be to make recommendations for improving safety throughout the plant. The JHSC shall be co-chaired by one management member who will be chosen by the management members of the JHSC and one Employee member who will be chosen by the hourly members of the JHSC. The members of the JHSC will receive specialized training to help them carry out their responsibilities. The duties of the JHSC include: 1. Making monthly systematic inspections of the plant to ensure that there is a safe, healthful and sanitary working environment in the plant. The purpose of this inspection is to make recommendations for the correction of unsafe or harmful conditions. 2. Meeting monthly to review health and safety conditions within the plant and investigate, report and make recommendations as to the correction of conditions affecting the safety and health of employees to the appropriate members of the Company. In the event the members of the JHSC are unable to satisfactorily resolve a health and safety matter, it may be referred to the next step in the Concern Resolution Process, as applicable. 3. The Company will provide the JHSC with all data, safety and accident information, which is necessary to perform their duties. In addition, accurate minutes will be taken of the meeting and distributed to each committee member and posted on plant bulletin boards. 4. Where the JHSC requires support and/or guidance, it may seek the assistance of available resources within Magna and the CAW. When such assistance is requested by the JHSC, such advisors may come into the plant to make such examinations, investigations and recommendations as shall be reasonably connected with the purpose of the JHSC. Time off for such representative(s) to attend meetings of the Health & Safety Committee in accordance with the foregoing shall be granted and time so spent attending such meetings shall be deemed to be work time for which the representative(s) shall be paid by the Employer at his/her regular or overtime rate as may be applicable. g) The Union agrees to endeavour to obtain the full co-operation of its membership in the observance of all safety rules and practices. h) Pregnant employees may request to be transferred from their current duties if, in the professional opinion of the employee's physician, the pregnancy may be at risk. If such a transfer is not feasible, the pregnant employee, if she so requests, will be granted an unpaid leave of absence before commencement of the pregnancy leave referred to in Article 17.07. i) Where the Employer identifies high-risk areas where employees are exposed to Hepatitis B, the Employer will provide, at no cost to the employees, a Hepatitis B vaccine.

Joint Health and Safety Committee. A Joint Health and Safety Committee of equal representation shall be established. The committee shall give consideration to and make recommendations on such matters as the safeguarding of health and prevention of hazards to life and property. Particular attention will be paid to questions involving alleged hazardous or unsanitary working conditions. Regular meetings will be held and minutes of all meetings will be issued. Two members of the Health and Safety Committee, one member from Management and one member from the Union, shall jointly conduct investigations of all accidents involving members of the bargaining units.
Joint Health and Safety Committee. The Company and the Union agree to a joint Health and Safety Committee consisting of not less than five (5) employees, preferably from different departments of the hotel, selected by the Union and not less than five (5) from the Company who shall meet on a regular monthly basis. Joint Health and Safety Committee. A. Purpose The purpose of the committee is to identify and investigate health and safety hazards and make recommendations on preventive measures. Additionally, the committee will assist in monitoring all ongoing health and safety programs to assure their effectiveness in preventing hazardous working conditions. Investigation and monitoring may include work site inspections as requested by the Union. The committee shall have the authority to make recommendations to correct health and health and safety hazards. The committee may research and make recommendations for safer substitutes or modifications to the new equipment, medical treatments and/or processes to the Product Review Analysis Committee. The Employer shall provide the Committee on a quarterly basis with data containing the vital information on all work related injuries and illnesses, including but not limited to injury-on-duty quarterly reports which will include needle stick and sharps injuries.
