Common use of REST PERIODS, MEAL PERIODS, AND MILEAGE Clause in Contracts

REST PERIODS, MEAL PERIODS, AND MILEAGE. 15.01 All employees shall receive one (1) paid fifteen (15) minute rest period during each one-half (1/2) shift, except those employees in positions which require the uninterrupted presence of an employee, who shall receive two (2) such rest periods per complete shift, but only when qualified relief is available and practicable. The City retains the right to schedule employees’ rest periods to fulfill the operational needs of the various work units. Rest periods shall not be accumulated. If any employee does not receive a rest period because of operational requirements, such rest period may not be taken during a subsequent work shift.
